About this Lecture

Event Image

In May 2009, the Chief of Naval Operations formed the Navy's Task Force Climate Change (TFCC) to address the implications of climate change for national security and naval operations, and to ensure the Navy is ready and capable to meet all mission requirements in the 21st century. With a near-term focus on the Arctic, the Navy has developed Arctic and Climate Change Roadmaps to guide its actions for climate change adaptation. Using a science-based approach, TFCC has engaged over 650 individuals from over 150 organizations, conducted studies, and informed Navy policy to ensure the Navy is ready and capable in the 21st century under all conditions.
